Every effort is made to ensure your complete satisfaction. Kokua
Nurses will investigate Medicare or insurance benefits on your behalf.Your Case Manager will discuss your financial obligations with you or the
person responsible for your bills.
Kokua Nurses accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express
The following information describes our payment policies:
Private Duty Care
- Does not require a physician's order
- Patient/family is responsible for all charges
- Service can range from 4 hours at a time to 24 hours; from occasional to
continuous care
- Deposit equal to one week's care is required and applied to the last invoice;
discounts are available
- Nurse Case Manager works with the patient and family to develop a plan
of care
- No charges are made for nursing assessment visits and supervision of the
home care aides
Medicare Home Health Service
- Medicare eligibility required
- Physician orders required
- Patient must be homebound
- Patient must require skilled, medically necessary, intermittent home visits
- Medicare is billed directly...full costs of eligible services is covered
by Medicare
Insurance Plans and HMOs
- The amount of coverage for home care varies among insurance plans
- Eligibility and coverage is verified by Kokua Nurses
- Patient/family is financially responsible for services not covered by the
insurance plan
- Kokua Nurses will file insurance claims on your behalf
Combining Private Duty Care and Medicare or Insurance covered services
- Individual planning will help you determine the most comprehensive plan
of care
- Medicare can pay for some eligible services and you can pay for other care
which you may desire
- In some cases, several insurance plans can be coordinated to cover the
cost of home care
Hourly or visit charges include:
- Comprehensive initial home assessment
- Consideration of the client's needs and preferences in assigning and scheduling
personnel
- Regular on-site supervision and contact with client's physician as necessary
or desired
- Employee taxes, unemployment and workers comp. insurance, wages and benefits
- Employer's FICA contribution
- Professional & general liability and malpractice insurance
- Health care and disability insurance for our employees
